About the event
Anxiety in students does not always look like worry. It can appear as avoidance, perfectionism, irritability, frequent bathroom requests, unfinished work, or even defiance. This session helps educators interpret these signals accurately and respond with confidence.
Grounded in child and adolescent psychology, the workshop explores how anxiety affects attention, memory, participation, and academic risk-taking. Participants examine common school-based triggers—from assessments to social comparison—and learn how subtle classroom shifts can significantly reduce stress.
The session includes:
A practical breakdown of anxiety “types” commonly seen in schools
Language reframing exercises to reduce shame-based responses
Classroom adjustments that maintain expectations while lowering emotional barriers
